Effect of Gratitude on Life Stress among Nursing Students

Abstract
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the effect of gratitude on life stress in nursing students.

Methods: A total of 106 nursing students participated in the study. Data were analyzed by frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression analysis with SPSS WIN 18.0 program.

Results: The mean scores for gratitude and life stress were above-average level and below-average level respectively. There were significant mean differences in life stress according to sex and perceived physical health status. Life stress negatively correlated with gratitude. Gratitude was significant factors of life stress explaining 16.6% of the variances.

Conclusion: To decrease life stress in nursing students, nursing educators need to develop educational intervention programs to enhance gratitude.
